Four grades, and every connection carries one
Not everything on Dapping is verified, and pretending otherwise would make the verified things worth less. So each connection shows its grade rather than flattening into a badge.
Anyone can claim a connection to your ecosystem. That is deliberate: a directory that requires permission tells you who filled in a form, not who is actually there. What changes is the grade, and you can filter to verified only whenever you want.
What the platform refuses to do
These are the constraints that make the grades mean anything. They are enforced by how the product is built, not by policy.- A verified badge cannot outlive its proof. Verification checks live control of your official X account and an email on your own domain. If an edit invalidates either, including moving your website to a new domain, the badge goes. A verified company also cannot change its contact address without new proof first.
- An organizer cannot demote a winner. Participation outcomes only move up. Re-import the same campaign with everyone listed as a participant and your winners stay winners.
- A disputed record stops counting as proof. When a builder disputes an attestation, it is suspended as evidence while contested, drops out of attestation totals and the attested filters, and is marked disputed wherever it still appears. The company can withdraw it; it cannot overrule the person.
- The recipient controls display. An attestation lands in the builder’s inbox and shows on their profile only if they choose. They can withdraw that consent later.
- One live response per review, by construction. A company can hold one public response to a review, and replacing it replaces that one. It cannot edit, hide, or delete what someone else experienced.
- Attesting yourself is labeled. A role you approve for yourself at your own company reads as self-attested and does not carry independent weight.
What proof here does not mean
Read these as hard limits, not caveats. A verified badge means an organization proved it controls its own identity. An attested role means a named company confirmed a working relationship. Neither is an identity check. Dapping performs no background checks, no sanctions or KYC screening, and no verification that a person is who they claim to be in the world. If your hiring process needs that, it still needs it. Karma summarizes proof that already exists; it is not a character reference. A high score anywhere on Dapping is a triage order, never an audit, a safety statement, or an endorsement. On-chain figures state their coverage, and a metric we cannot compute says unavailable instead of zero.Continue on Dapping
