Complete onboarding and choose your public handle

Choose your public handle and add the details people need to recognize you.

Onboarding opens by itself the first time you sign in. It is a six-step panel over the page, not a page of its own, so there is no address to bookmark and no close button.

You leave it by reaching the end. Step one asks you to confirm your public handle, and that choice is permanent: it becomes your profile URL and cannot be changed afterwards.

What the six steps ask

1. Set your public identity

   Your name and your permanent handle.
2. What do you build around?

   Topics that shape what you see.
3. What brings you here?

   Why you joined.
4. About you

   Headline and location, which sit at the top of your public profile.
5. What do you work with?

   Skills teams can match against.
6. Opportunity signals

   A profile photo and what you are open to right now.

Each step saves before it advances, so an interruption does not cost you the earlier answers. Steps two onward offer Skip this step, which moves you forward rather than out.

Choose a valid handle

Use 3 to 50 lowercase letters, numbers, or underscores. Start and end with a letter or number, and avoid repeated underscores.

A handle has to be free across both people and companies, including handles either has used before. If yours is taken or reserved by Dapping, try a short variation people will still recognize.

After onboarding

Dapping moves you to your own profile and offers a short setup tour. Add the ecosystems you know, the problems you solve, and the work you want next: full-time roles, contracts, co-founding, advisory work, hackathon teams, grants, or bounties. A headline that names the work you do carries further than a general label.

Then open Settings and review what is public. You control Location, Company & Position, Primary Wallet, Social Accounts, Open to Work, and NFT Collection independently.
